The Churches in Ovada

The church was built from 1984 in the same place where once stood a small church prefabricated much frequented mainly by the inhabitants of Corso Italia and neighboring streets which over the years had gone populating.
The design of the Passionist Father Ottaviano D 'Egidio, recalls the Cathedral of Tokyo designed by Kenzo Tange in 1964 even though it was covered with steel plates while the Church of St. Paul was built in reinforced concrete beams.
The interior shows the coated laminated wood structure that supports the sail, and that gives a sense of warmth contrasting with the severity of the exterior.
The church was built thanks to donations and the work of numerous citizens of Ovada who have served their time and their expertise to the realization of the work.
The church was dedicated, like the previous one, to Saint Paul of the Cross.
