(National Animal Protection Agency)

The Doghouse is managed by volunteers of the E.N.P.A. of Ovada, established June 28, 1986.

Since the municipal structure was not operational then, the Association collected abandoned animals in a private area trying to find them, as soon as possible, an adequate accommodation with trusted people.

On July 30, 1989, the municipal kennel came into operation, since then always managed by E.N.P.A. volunteers. that alternate daily.

The activity of Enpa volunteers is not limited to the management of the kennel:

 There are over 100 feline colonies on the territory: lots of cats to look after!

Some volunteers take care of them (nutrition, therapies, birth control and everything they need). Cats destined for foster care are taken care of in rooms provided by some volunteers until their adoption because in Ovada there is no cattery.

Promote the adoption of dogs and cats, with pre and post checks;

They are interested in raising awareness and education of young people with interventions in the schools of the ovada in collaboration with the school leadership;

Organize banquets in Ovada and neighboring municipalities to inform citizens about everything related to animal welfare, distance adoptions and the purpose of volunteers to be more numerous;

Since 2010 the group of judicial police officers "ENPA zoophilous guards" has been present, intervening in the event of poor governance and ill-treatment. Citizens' reports are indispensable and protected by secrecy.
